First and foremost I want to say I understand when people is short-staffed. I understand some hospitals don’t have access to things other hospitals have. Now the last time I had a child in Clovis was in 2013 so it was based on those experiences that I chose to come to this hospital for, my care during the pregnancy. Staff was friendly, they were kind, however I have never experienced an appt, especially the initial appt, where it was so scattered, by that I mean I didn’t receive my 1st trimester ultrasound AFTER I explained how my body works n that going off of my LMP wouldn’t give an accurate date, so they did order an ultrasound but not for a week or two. At this point I’m try not to cry because if they would have taken my history into consideration they would know how long it had taken to get to this point n how delicate the situation is & why was the ultrasound not apart of the 1st trimester screening??? Like it was even a yr ago??? It makes me nervous and makes me feel unheard as a patient, & makes me second guess my choice in my care. They then said they would send me for labs, hospital nor I have those orders HOWEVER I am grateful they herd me about the specialist, the specialist contacted me quickly. I go down stairs n staff is ready to give me an appt two weeks out for the ultrasound n I literally start to cry, so she says she’s gonna keep calling to get me an earlier appt n they would call me. That lady totally gave me my faith back in this place, props to her! Then I look back at my chart trying to find the orders for my blood test n none. then one other swab test reading is abnormal and never got a call so now I’m thinking the worst-BUT overall people were friendly, my husband is insisting it was just a bad day & to give them another chance so that’s what I will do.
They dont care about your health. If you have issues, theyll keep saying they dont see a problem. One of the docs constantly forgot why I was being seen and wouldnt review my chart. My latest appointment, I sat there for over 2 hours and the doc never showed up. No one bothered saying anything to me about her not being there until after 1, until I got up and left the room. My appointment was at 10am. They had no other docs in the building that could cover the shifts she knew she couldnt make.
I had to wait over 2 hours for my female doctor to come in, not apologize, and say they can’t do anything because everyone has already left. My husband made a reservation and told them about my situation being serious but they didn’t do anything.
I recently gave birth in PRMC and had a really warming experience there. For all my visits, i had really good nurses and doctors who answered my queries despite these being frequently asked questions. I entered the ER in the evening and with pelvic pain and wanted to check if i was dilating, the ER team directed me to the L&D area almost immediately. After that, i was met with the most caring nurses and doctors! Each nurse at each shift change took the effort to understand our needs and taught me so much. During delivery, the nurses really coached me through the delivery and were the most comforting. The doctor had great partnership with the nurses and was extremely swift in the delivery and post stitches. This was my first pregnancy and i’m really glad i delivered in PRMC and got the care i never knew i needed through these days.Thank you very much PRMC OBGYN L&D team!
